Paper Tanks Battle - Added Weather Change and... Russian won this time....

Hello again. I found some time to check all rules again with some new modification...



Weather change environment (RAIN / SUN / MYST). Depend from weather range of each canon will be shorter.

Before game we throw dice and depend from result - we selected different weather condition. Next throw determine how many rounds that weather condition will take. If SUN - tanks can shoot any distance. If RAIN - range for each tank is decrease per different color on range distance sticks. Orange determine maximum distance to enemy tank. Blue color that is maximum range during RAIN phase and shortest range is.. MYST. That factor added some chances for T-34 to came close enough and attack German tanks.

Let's Play! German attacked with three Panzer IV tanks, One Stug. III and Panther. one captured T-34 tanks will follow Stug.III
I have build new road, few buildings, walls, etc..

 Playing field is 1.70 cm x 90 cm

German formation start on road. Panzer IV can move 1.5 mount plate speed on road and one mount plate on terrain. Panther tank is fast as T-34 tank. Two mount plates on road and 1.5 on terrain. With that speed and range of his 75 mm canon Panther tank is very dangerous tank. Same as T-34/85 mm so chances of Russian troops are almost equal.

Upper side of field one Stug.III and T-34 German move separately. Stug III can move same as P.IV tank.
 Russian join battle with four T-34/76, two T-34/85 and one KW-1/76mm

Distance between forces is about two phases for longest shoot. But in weather condition change even T-34 can get close enough.


 On road T-34 tanks are very fast and can move two mount plates at one movement phase same as Panther tank. . First phase started with RAIN weather. That mean all tanks must come very close to each other before shooting phase. And RAIN weather was picked only per three next movement phases.

 Stug. III escorted  T-34 attack from North Side.
 Here we have my weather counter to control weather condition for each phase.

 German had better fire power and on road they divided  to two formation. Two P.IV turned down road.

 Russian platoon attacked from South part of field
 Two T-34 attack on main road. One has 85 mm canon and hope to slow down Panther and P.IV.
 And lonely KW-1 decide to attack Stug with T-34 escort.
 Very narrow so Russian trying to fit between bushes and building.
 Tanks on road move twice faster, especially T-34  and Panther.

 German trying to spread out and use fire power and range of their 75 mm canon..if weather change to SUN of course.

 Myst for next three phases. That mean each tank can use shortest range. That gave Russian good chance to survive first long distance contact.

Narrow field between forest and building. Only 3 Russian tanks can pass thru.
First T-34/85 turned left to hide from first P.IV fire range.
 
Second T-34/76 drive two mount plates on road. Meanwhile small mess down road... three tanks could pass, last with 85 mm canon decide to support other on road.
German decide to attack three T-34/76 with P.IV and their 75 mm canons. Suppose to be easy part. I hope my P.IV destroy all Russian tanks before they reach me...
Movement Phase. Of the road my P.IV can drive only one mount plate, vs. T-34 who can move one and half on terrain.






 First shooting phases on short distance...

 Smoke grenades saved Russian tank. That smoke barrier stay till next target selector phase so this tank can use it as a cover.

 But on the beginning German P.IV destroyed first T-34

 But when MYST end...SUN showed up and next four phases we play classic weather. And tanks are close enough...






 German P.IV used their 75 mm long distance canon and sunny weather condition. Russian tanks need to get closer under fire...

 On North T-34/85 aim german T-34 and also STUG and KW-1 join battle. Many rounds...


 First hits. Engine and missed with smoke which saved their lives..
 KW-1 lost turret and canon - can't shoot this time.




 But two other T-34 had no issues with attack one of the P.IV with deadly result.


 Russian T-34/85 lost turret. And during next phase before move he is going to fix it.. if lucky.
 Stug. III was hit.... Situation looks bad for Germans...






Two targets selected. 

 Again during next shooting phase David selected damage token and three Russian T-34 (two were hit engines only and still could fight) destroyed two P.IV without own losses.

 P.IV tried hit T-34 on the corner but missed and also Russian tank shoot smoke grenade...

 David found his RUDY-102 tank with perfect location - can hit P.IV and Panther can't hit him.
 And - damage token again. Another P.IV has been destroyed.
 Platoon of T-34 trying bypass building and join main battle.

 This time Panther found fist opponent - T-34/85
 Also KW-1 was manage to fix his turret...


 First shoot - Russian. Panther lost track and can't move...
 KW-1 again lost turret and could't shoot back...

Platoon move out around building to support rest of troops.
Panther tank can't move, where T-34/85 used destroyed T-34 as cover. That situation gave good benefit to Russian tank. If Panther will shoot first and player pick hit below turret - it will be missed, because of cover. So to destroy that tank only Turret or Tank destroyed can damage Russian tank.

 During each Movement Phase each player can try to throw dice to remove all damages such engine, turret, track. That time - again...KW-1 was manage to fix his turret.
 Russian tanks missed to hit Panther, and three smoke grenades created cover...

 KW-1 without problem damage German T-34...

 With last Panther tank... damage track. and five Russian tanks against... I decided to give up the game.
